Konnichiwa!

Hello from Tokyo!!!

It`s still sinking in that I am officially here in Japan! After about 10hrs of flying time (first to Gold Coast, then on to Tokyo) Patrick and I got through Japanese customs, and then after a bit of pointing and gesturing we found ourselves on the Narita Express train to our hotel in the Shinjuku district in northwestern Tokyo. We had a bit of laugh as we got turned around a bit trying to get from the train station to the hotel, but now we a all settled :)

We didn`t do too much last night, but walked around our area a bit, just taking in all the signs, lights and smells!

Today we plan to explore the area a little further, as well as a nearby shrine, and then work our way to central Tokyo station to explore and also check out a hobby district. I think the hobby area will be dangerous for us, I can already feel my old time love for Sailor Moon returning lol! I had my first experience ordering food here... basically just point at what you want lol. I did manage to say Arigatoh :) I felt so proud!

I will post more soon! Hope all is well in Florida for your trip Mom, Dad and Greg. I`m sure you are now enjoying warmer weather, where as I am getting a taste of colder weather in Tokyo! (4C lastnight... quite a change from 32C in Sydney lol). Also, I did read your email Gramma! Glad all is going ok with the renovations, sounds like it will be quite nice once it is all done!

Take care,

Sarah
